I'm making this tonight with my Faith in God girls and think it's a super fun idea for making ice cream with kids. Or rather having kids make their own dang ice cream!
What you'll need:
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup whole milk or half and half
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
6 tablespoons rock salt
1 pint-size Ziploc bag
1 gallon-size Ziploc bag
Ice cubes
How to make ice cream:
1. Fill the large bag half full of ice and add the rock salt
2. Put milk (or half and half), sugar and vanilla into the small bag and seal it
3. Place the smal bag inside the large one and seal it carefully
4. Shake and toss around the bag until the mixture is ice cream, which takes about 5 - 10 minutes
5. Wipe off the top of the small bag, open it carefull and enjoy!
*This recipe makes one serving. If you want more you can double it - but it is not recommended to more than double the recipe per gallon bag of ice.

With the hot weather coming up this weekend I'll definitely have to try this!
It's actually pretty good ice cream. We made it with half and half and doubled the recipe and it turned out great. You'll have to let me know if you try it...
I would want to put a line of duct tape across the top of each bag.
You can put duct tape across the top if you want to - but as long as you get bags with a good seal you'll be fine. But I would definitely keep some gloves on hand cause the bag gets freaking cold!
